Fresh off his election into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in his final year on the ballot, Billy Wagner will receive the ultimate honor from the Astros.

The Houston Astros will retire Hall of Fame closer Billy Wagner’s No. 13 in August, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon. Wagner was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame last month in his final year of eligibility.

Billy Wagner will be the 10th former Astro to have his number retired and the first since Craig Biggio's No. 7 was retired in 2018.

NEW YORK — The Hall of Fame voter who declined to select Ichiro Suzuki remains a mystery. All 321 voters who allowed their ballots to be made public Tuesday by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America selected the Japanese star. Suzuki appeared on 393 of 394 ballots when voting was announced on Jan. 21.
