Daniel Penny, the Marine veteran acquitted in the subway chokehold death of Jordan Neely, has landed a new job in Silicon Valley. He’s been hired by Andreessen Horowitz, a venture capital firm, according to his profile on the company’s website.

Mr. Penny, who was acquitted after choking a mentally ill subway passenger to death, will work for Andreessen Horowitz. Before the killing, he had been an architecture student.

Venture capital giant Andreessen Horowitz has hired Daniel Penny, a Marine veteran who became a national figure after he used a chokehold on an agitated subway rider.

Daniel Penny has reportedly landed a role in venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz a little less than two months after he was acquitted of criminally negligent homicide pertaining to the chokehold death of 30-year-old homeless man Jordan Neely in 2023.
