The deal between Israel and Hamas to release hostages being held in Gaza and begin a ceasefire was officially signed by negotiators in Doha on Thursday, according to two sources familiar with the issue.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - A top level Israeli security delegation arrived in Qatar on Sunday for talks on a Gaza hostage and ceasefire deal, a spokesperson for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, in a possible sign of so-far elusive agreements nearing.

Qatari mediators have drafted a proposal for Israel and Hamas to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, involving a hostage exchange for Palestinian prisoners. Although a breakthrough has been made, many details are yet to be finalized.
