Sean Dyche has broken his silence in an official statement released today following his sacking from Everton last week after nearly two years in charge.

Sean Dyche said Wednesday he had left Everton at "the right time" after managing the club during "one of its toughest periods in its history".

At the time, Everton was teetering above the relegation zone, positioned 16th in the Premier League. David Moyes then swiftly took the reins for his second spell at the club within 48 hours, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal to succeed Dyche, who originally managed at Goodison Park between 2002 and 2013.

Sean Dyche says it was the right time to leave Everton amid "one of its toughest periods in its history". Dyche was sacked less than four hours before the FA Cup tie with Peterborough last Thursday by the club's new owners, The Friedkin Group, with Everton 16th in the Premier League and only one point above the relegation zone.

Dyche was appointed as Everton manager on January 30, 2023, and led the club to Premier League survival. He did the same again in the 2023-24 season despite an unprecedented double points deduction after the Blues were found guilty of breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules.
