Outfielder Jurickson Profar, who had the best season of his MLB career last year, spoke about how Fernando Tatis Jr.'s father helped him improve his hitting.

Profar, a switch-hitter, began lifting his front leg higher at the start of his swing. He said advice from former major leaguer Fernando Tatis and work with San Diego outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. last offseason helped convince him to make the change, which added power to his swing.

After pretending he was Andruw Jones or Chipper Jones in backyard games as a kid, Profar will be the Braves' everyday left fielder.

Profar finalized a $1 million deal with the Padres last Feb. 24, then hit .280 with 24 home runs in a long-awaited breakout at 31.

In light of Ronald Acuna Jr. not being available when Opening Day hits, the Atlanta Braves has addressed their outfield by signing Jurickson Profar to a three-year, $42 million, deal on Thursday.

The Braves and Cubs are among the suitors for the services of free agent reliever Ryne Stanek, per MLB.com. The 6-foot-4 right-hander heads to his age-33 season having been well-traveled in recent years.
