Ukrainian long-range drones struck one of Russia's biggest oil refineries for the second time in three days, a senior Kyiv official said Monday, as Ukraine tries to slow the Russian army's push along parts of the front line and the third anniversary of the war approaches.

On the night of Monday, February 3, the Volgograd oil refinery and Astrakhan gas processing plant in Russia were attacked by Ukrainian drones from the Security Service (SSU) and the Special Operations Forces.

The Volgograd refinery — one of the biggest oil-processing facilities in Russia — produces almost 300,000 barrels a day. Currently, most of the gasoline it produces and a large part of the diesel is used domestically.
