MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. — The Crooked Creek Fire in McDowell County that burned 220 acres is now 100% contained. The N.C. Forest Service confirms the fire was caused by a fallen powerline. There is an Air Quality Alert in effect from midnight tonight to midnight Friday night for Yancy, Mitchell, McDowell and Burke counties.
