Novak Djokovic is out of the Australian Open in stunning fashion. The 24-time slam champion medically retired immediately after dropping the first set of his semifinal match against No. 2 Alexander Zverev in a tiebreak 7-6 (5).

Novak Djokovic admitted “he tried” but was forced to pull out of the Australian Open a set into his semi-final against Alexander Zverev due to injury. There had been doubt about the Serbian's fitness until he took to the court after he suffered a left leg injury during his quarter-final against Carlos Alcaraz on Tuesday.

Novak Djokovic is unsure if he will play in next year’s Australian Open and his 2025 campaign was halted in the semifinal stage through injury. Djokovic was pursuing a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam during the fortnight and had upset third seed Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinal in four sets.
