Shrouded in dense fog early Monday, a line of vehicles snaked in both directions along the narrow single lanes of Pacific Coast Highway in the Pacific Palisades area, marking the full reopening of the famed highway after last month’s devasting wildfire that ravaged the adjoining hillside neighborhoods.

Despite ongoing cleanup and restoration efforts following the Palisades Fire, a portion of the Pacific Coast Highway reopened Sunday to traffic.

Pacific Coast Highway and the Pacific Palisades neighborhood are reopening to the public this weekend despite concerns from some local residents and officials who fear it’s too soon to allow wide access to the fire-damaged area.
